What are 209 shotshell primers used for?

The 209 primers are suited for ordinary field and target loads, whilst the 209M primers are ideal for heavy waterfowl and turkey loads.

Which 209 primers are the hottest?

WKR. 209A primers are likely the hottest on the market, with CCI 209M a close second. Cheddite primers are comparable to normal 209 primers and should work nicely for powder pellets. The Muzzleloader 209s appear to have a reputation for being cold yet designed for 777 pellets.

What are Shotshell primers used for?

A primer in center-fire cartridges and shotshells consists of three parts: the cup, the igniting compound, and the anvil. The metal cup contains the igniting chemical. The ignition compound is responsible for setting off or igniting the gunpowder in the cartridge or shotshell.

What powder to use for shotshells?

Alliant Red Dot and Green Dot powders also make excellent shotgun reloading powder. Red Dot burns quicker and has a little bit more recoil than Green Dot.
