How Good are Cheddite Primers?

Cheddite 209s had previously served me well. Misfires are not a concern. They are wider in diameter than Win 209s and will expand your priming pocket, so keep the hulls you use with them separate. The only issue I’ve discovered is that they penetrate several of my shotguns.

Cheddite Primers Substitute

Cheddite has created its dependable and strong Clerinox primer (US type) to increase ballistic performance with most available powders. The consistency of Cheddite primers provides a dependable powder ignition at optimum sensitivity, allowing your cartridges to work as expected.

This consistency is achieved through stringent quality control of all components, including the anvil, chamber, cap, and mixture, as well as constant performance testing of the primer itself, as well as when paired with a specified reference cartridge loading.

Mercuric compounds are not present in the non-corrosive explosive combination. The term “Clerinox” is a trademark derived from the words Clerieux (the French town where the primer paint is made) and “inox,” which is derived from the phrase inoxadable=waterproof/stainless (and so non-corroding).

According to another forum, Cheddite manufactures three shotgun primers: CX2000 (pink and blue box), CX1000 (yellow box), and CX50 (I have never seen a box).

Their hottest primer is the 2000, their medium strength primer is the 1000, and their low power primer is the CX50.
